Fees Below are UNCHANGED since Jan 1, 2010
We consider the fees we charge for our professional service to be very reasonable, and most industry surveys confirm this.  If price is your most important consideration and you find someone else who will work cheaper, remember that you get what you pay for. OUR FEES ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE.

CONSULTATIONS (Tax or Business) 
of 30 minutes or less, by Telephone, or e-Mail are FREE of charge. In office during tax season $25 consultation will apply even if you do not file with usLonger Sessions are $80/hour, billed in 15 minute increments from start of the session. (No, you cannot have a daily 29 minute consultation /phone call /e-mail.) 


TAX RETURN PREPARATION fees are based on forms used in the return and the time and expertise required, include Electronic filing and any one State filing.  (Additional States are $35 each--the absence of a State requirement does not reduce the fee.)  We try to meet or beat commercial tax preparers' fees for identical work whenever possible.  Tax Returns will not be released to client (even in "draft" printed or PDF format), or e-filed until our fees are paid in full. 

1.  INDIVIDUAL RETURNS
: Minimum fees are: $85 for Form 1040/1040A; and $60.00 for 1040EZ (but only $30 for a 1040EZ for your Dependent Child/Student under age 24 if we prepare your return). Above Fees do not include additional forms needed for Income Exclusions/Adjustments to Income, Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) or Additional Taxes/Penalties, or Tax Credits. As well as Bank Fees which are included when Taxpayer deceides to have Taxpreperation Fee's deducted from refund. 
 
(a) Itemized Deductions Schedule-A: $20 fee does not include: Form 2106 (Unreimbursed Employee Expense); Form 8829 (Employee Office in the Home); Form 8283 (Non-Cash Donations Greater Than $500); Form 4952 (Investment Interest Expense); or Form 4684 (Casualty Losses)--except for Presidentially Declared Disaster Losses which are free of charge. 
(b) Interest & Dividend Income Schedule-B: $20 fee includes the first 12 entries; add $2 per additional transaction.
(c) Business Schedule-C or Farm Schedule-F: Minimum Fee is $225, including Auto Expense Form 2106 (up to 3 vehicles - additional vehicles $15 each), Depreciation Form 4562, Office in Home Form 8829, and Self-Employment Tax Schedule SE, and are adjusted upwards based on time required to organize your data if you present a "shoebox"--see Year-End Bookkeeping above.  You need a demonstrable Profit Motive to the activity for a Schedule C or F to pass IRS scrutiny ('hobby losses' are only allowed to the extent of their associated income). If you show losses every year be prepared to demonstrate how you maintained your lifestyle.
(d) Capital Gain/Loss Schedule-D (non-business): $20 fee includes first 8 sales: add $2 for each additional sale--no charge for Sch-D created ONLY for capital Gain Dividends.
(e) Capital Gain/Loss Form 4794
(business or rental): $35 each sale.
(f)  Rental Income Schedule-E (Residential and Commercial Rentals) or Form 4835 (Farm Rental): Fee is $75 each Rental and includes Depreciation Form 4562, and Passive Loss Limitation Form 8582 and related Worksheets.
(g) Gambling Winnings included at no extra cost for up to 4 Forms W2-G, add $3.00 each for additional forms.
(h) Wage Income included at no extra cost for up to 5 Forms W2, add $5.00 each for additional forms.
(i) Pension Income included at no extra cost for up to 5 Forms 1099-R, add $5.00 each for additional forms.
(j) Miscellaneous Income included at no extra cost for up to 3 Forms 1099-MISC, add $5.00 each for additional forms.
(k) New Client /"walk-in" Last minute "emergency" Extensions are $150 pre-paid, with HALF credited towards your Tax Preparation fee if we also complete the return.
(l)  CA Registered Domestic Partners (and other States' same gender unions) must file de-coupled federal and state returns; add a minimum of $100 to the above fees to allow for the extra Form 1040 required reflecting full information on both parties.
(m) Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) filings, due to new "due diligence" requirements placed by IRS on Tax Preparers, carry a fee of $50 and documentation to be provided but the Taxpayer.

Not all Forms/Schedules that may be needed for your return are listed abovePrior year Non-Filers must pay a $125 per year Minimum Fee Retainer (non-refundable), execute a Power of Attorney, and provide full relevant documentation before work commences.  

2.  CORPORATION ("C" or "S"), PARTNERSHIP, LLC RETURNS are based on the time and expertise required and the degree of organization of your data. Minimum Fee is $325 (plus $15 for each participant Schedule-K-1), providing Gross Receipts are under $250,000 and Total Corporate Assets are under $250,000 (or $600,000 in Assets for Partnerships/LLCs).  Fee includes electronic filing (if available) and one StateIf additional Schedules or Forms are required there will be an additional fee for each.

3.  ESTATE RETURNS
("death taxes") are $1,200 Minimum and are based on the time and expertise required and degree of organization of your data.

4.  NON-PROFIT RETURNS (Tax-Exempt Organizations), Forms 990 or 990EZ, are based on the time and expertise required and the degree of organization of your data. Minimum Fee is $350 providing there is no "Unrelated Business Income" (that is taxable and requires an additional Form 990-T filing with a Minimum Fee of $100). Fees includes electronic filing (if available) and one State.  Preparing your Request for Tax Exemption Form 1023 carries a fee of $250. 

5.  TRUST RETURNS
(Fiduciary Returns) are based on the time and expertise required and the degree of organization of your data. Minimum Fee is $350 (for a Simple or Grantor Living Trust), or $450 (for a Complex or Decedent's Estate Trust), plus $15 for each Beneficiary Schedule-K-1.  Fee includes electronic filing (if available) and one StateIf additional Schedules or Forms are required there will be an additional fee for each.

TAX REPRESENTATION (OUTSIDE OF AUDIT), such as Reviewing and Responding to an IRS CP-2000 "Notice of Proposed Assessment" (based on omissions on your tax return), or other tax agency matters that require written replies or telephone resolution are subject to a $125 Minimum Fee Retainer (non-refundable) -- avoid this fee by reporting ALL your income in the original return!  

THIRD PARTY WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
, such as standardized Lender Letters (often required for some re-financings), are subject to a fee of $50 (plus $5 transmission fee) and their content will contain language that protects our firm from lender lawsuits if your loan goes bad.

INCORPORATION /LLC FORMATION (Florida) fee of $325 prepaid as a Minimum Fee Retainer (non-refundable) You must incorporate (or register as a 'Foreign' entity to do business) in the State where your business physically resides or has activities that qualify as "doing business." Additional States will be done for an additional charge. Entity Dissolution fee is $175.00.
